Simple Bicep Exercises

The bicep is a muscle that is located in the upper arm. Its most common role in your body is to flex the elbow and rotate the forearm. It is one of the easier muscles to work out due to the simplicity of the exercises involved. In terms of physical appearance the bicep changes noticeably quicker than most other muscles groups in your body. To workout this muscle you will need some simple fitness equipment, which all gyms will have or you can buy yourself and use them in your home since they are small in size.

Bicep workout with Barbell Curls
The most effective fitness exercise using barbell curls can be done right in your bedroom as it does not require much space. Have one barbell in each hand and stand up straight with your arms by the sides of your hips. Now lift the barbells towards your chest, keeping your elbows in a fixed position and your back straight. It must be done exactly like this otherwise your bicep muscle is not being worked as hard due to other muscles contributing to the lifting motion. Make sure you do enough repetitions so that the next day you feel your muscles to be slightly sore, this is a good indicator that you have done enough work on them. Then with every session try and increase the repetitions if your body can take it.

Barbells can also be used to increase the endurance fitness of your bicep. This exercise is very simple, you need to stand up straight with the dumbbells by your sides like in the starting position of the last example. Now just lift the barbells in front of you, with your arms straight and extended, your elbows should be completely straight. All you need to do is hold the barbells there in a frozen position. This will very quickly get you tired but with regular training you will be able to find yourself holding out for longer.
